Warning !!! No fun picture ! How my legs look day 11
So all pictures I post show amazing vista's and good food and wine but trust me ...... It doesn't come easy ! The hiking days are mostly long ( between 4 and 8 hrs ) and the first 2 to 4 hours you feel great but the ones after that are often very hard . Your feet become very sore so you try sometimes to switch shoes towards the end . However I have to say all is improving the longer we walk !! The first 4 days or so we ( and this is for every one you meet ) could barely get up in the morning because everything was stiff and painful until you warmed up for a good 30 min . Now it's a minute or so and all is fine . Also the first few days I had trouble walking up or down steps at the end of a day . That is also gone . So our condition is improving every day. Now just fingers crossed our knees and ankles hold up 12 more days :) !!! 80% of the hikers wear knee braces . Some ( like me ) as prevention and lots because they did get hurt . Others have to deal with lots of blisters . I consider myself lucky ( hope it stays that way ) but I do have some issues . I have on and off " hikers heat rash " it only develops on your lower legs. Once it's there it stays for 2 to 4 days and then it clears again . But thankfully it doesn't hurt or itch and its not a health concern ..... It just looks pretty bad . So just this one time want to share this other side of the Camino with you :))))
